Dutch investment company CNBB Venture Partners has made a multi-million euro investment in Wyzetalk, a fast-growing digital employee engagement company. The investment will be used for a successful market introduction in the Netherlands and to achieve further European growth.
Wyzetalk connects large organisations with their frontline employees through its software solution to improve communication, increase employee engagement and drive business performance. Headquartered in Utrecht, the Wyzetalk and CNBB teams will be working closely to rapidly grow their European footprint.
CNBB invested in Wyzetalk due to its unique value proposition as well as their distinctive target market. While other internal communications providers mainly focus on office workers and peer-to-peer contact, Wyzetalk enables companies to communicate with large, complex segments of non-desk workers and gather employee feedback in a way that is structured and measurable.
CNBB and Wyzetalk recognise the need for this type of communication, especially among organisations where health, safety and hygiene are of utmost importance, and where differences in culture and language as well as dispersed operations are a challenge. Their professional services offering provides invaluable support to internal communications teams through sector-specific expertise and best practice advice.
Wyzetalk, founded in 2012 by Gys Kappers (CEO) and Gerhard Pretorius (CTO), already has an impressive record of accomplishment with global clients in the mining, oil and gas, manufacturing, retail and hospitality sectors. Kappers is a Dutch entrepreneur whose family immigrated to South Africa in the 1950s. He has recently brought the business “home” by establishing its headquarters in Utrecht.
Today, over 600 000 employees use Wyzetalk’s solutions worldwide. Recently, the company announced the partnership with its first Dutch client, Reederei Nord.
Lucas Brentjens, Managing Partner CNBB and chairman of the Dutch board says: “Wyzetalk’s ability to communicate with large groups of non-desk workers responds to an existing market demand. Especially when it comes to important information such as safety regulations, an always-on communication channel can make all the difference. We are very pleased with our investment in Wyzetalk. The quality of the product, the expertise of the team, and the sound relationship with Gys, give us the confidence in a successful collaboration.”
“During 2019 we were looking not only for an investor, but also a partner to realise our ambitious European growth strategy. We are happy to have found this partner in CNBB. Lucas Brentjens and Arco van Nieuwland have an enormous amount of experience in the European software market, which makes them excellent mentors. Their confidence in Wyzetalk is a compliment, but also confirms that our work matters. Together with CNBB, we will work on further growth, so that even more companies can communicate better, easier and more efficiently with their frontline workforce”, says Gys Kappers.
